Make Dieting Easy With Simple Substitutions

Want the secret to my 55 lb. weight loss? It’s really simple. I used simple substitutions. One must lower their calorie intake to lose weight long term. Just uses a few simple switches of everyday foods. I use many different ones and love them all.

If you love butter on your toast, there is a simple substitution for that. Spray butter. This happens to be my favorite substitution. I can save 40 calories and 5 grams of fat with spray butter. It’s good on toast at breakfast or in my mashed potatoes at dinner. A few sprays in my fried apples make them taste perfect. It has a great butter taste and can be used in so many foods. That makes it my favorite simple substitution.

Ground turkey meat is another great substitution. Use lean ground turkey instead of lean hamburger meat to save around 30 calories and 4 grams of fat. I use it in every recipe that calls for hamburger meat like meat loaf, spaghetti, and even burgers. I add some ranch powder and wow!

Calories can even be saved at breakfast with egg substitutes. Compared to whole eggs, the substitute saves 69 calories and 7 grams of fat. My family and I love to eat scrambled eggs and French toast made with egg substitute.

If you need to switch out sodas and juices green tea is a great simple substitution. No calories and all the flavor. Stir in some sugar substitute to add a little sweetness and you can’t beat it. It is also known to help flush sodium from the body and boost the metabolism.

Sugar substitutes are another great switch in your recipes. I use Ideal No Calorie Sweetener and it is one of my must haves. I love it! If you need to add a touch of sweet to a recipe or a drink, Ideal can be used. I add it to my coffee, tea and when I cook. I fried apples for breakfast and added Ideal to them and it was great! It is also safe to use in baking and cooking. This is one sugar substitute that you don’t have to worry about side effects because it is good for you. My fav!

To list all the simple substitutions here would be impossible. There are so many out there. From fat free mayo, lower calorie soups, fat free ranch, to baked food instead fried. If you look around a little you can find that perfect simple substitution for your diet. Take all the substitutions throughout the day and add them up and they would make a huge savings. You can keep your favorite foods this way.

Weight loss doesn’t have to be hard or you don’t need to feel starved. Making simple substitutions to my recipes and foods is how I lost my first 55lbs. I plan to keep it up and reach my goal weight. You can do this too!!
