Plant And Grow Trees For An Environmentally Friendly World

As a result of tree felling, we lose as many as six billion trees on an annual basis. The fact is that the products that are made from trees are essential for our daily living. Such as wood to put up houses, paper for writing on and even toilet paper for, well you know. And unfortunately, we need the products that the trees produce but we can do something about the depletion of our forests.

Arbor Day was established with the intention that we need to all be planting trees on that day although in reality this has had little impact. Planting trees is not an activity that a lot of folks give any thought to. If people could plant a tree, it would make a huge impact.

The worldwide population is likely approximately in the 7 billion mark. That is only an estimate since you can’t keep an exact count. But if every of those 7 billion folks went out and planted a tree every Arbor Day, we would be replacing all the trees that were dropped that year. We know in reality that this is not going to take place.

So, the suggestion is for those of you who care about our planet and want oxygen so you can live, plant a tree. I am not restricting this to planting trees on just one day each year. I am suggesting planting a tree approximately once every month or even once a week. We should try to make up for people who refuse to plant trees even though they go on using the earth’s valuable resources.

Numbers show that only about 15 million trees are planted on Arbor Day. Hence annually, we have a shortage of more or less 5 billion trees. This situation continues to deteriorate.

Whereas individuals must make the effort to plant trees, I have an idea that may solve this once and for all. If a law could be enacted that every time a tree is chopped down by lumber companies, they then had to plant two new ones, this could actually make a big difference.

We are going to have to continue to resolve this problem ourselves until there is the political willpower to make these changes. And it won’t take that much for us to replace the tree population every year. The number of trees felled every year could be replaced if ten percent of the world’s population planted one tree each month. On an annual basis, this would result in the planting of approximately 7 billion trees. In effect, this gives us an additional one billion trees and will go a long way to restoring the levels that are really required.

Planting a tree is a way all of us make a contribution to the planet. Things will change if 10% of the human population decide to do this. It’s your decision if you want to be part of it.
